School principals are sensitised to the extent to which they have contributed to the schooling of children from repatriated families by accepting them without a birth certificate, contrary to what is required in Haiti.
After attending human rights awareness sessions, the civil registrar of Anse-à-Pitre tried to issue birth certificates in a very short period of time to people concerned by our program.
Our partner, Le Garr, also conducted awareness sessions on the issue of people trafficking and smuggling, illegal migration and sexual assault. Screenings followed by debates were held in front of more than 500 people, mainly young people. Young people testified about the impact these plagues have had on their lives and those of their families. They have committed themselves to fight them by also sensitising others on the issue.
